Amritsar, Oct 16: After online shopping and films, devotional songs would soon be on the Net and Sikhs the world over can hear kirtans on their computers coming straight from the Golden Temple.

Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee SGPC, the apex Sikh religious body, plans to broadcast live kirtans on its internet website after the tremendous response to the daily hukumnamah8217; holy order of Guru Granth Sahib on the net.

A Canada-based private radio operator Sur Sagar8217; has approached the SGPC for permission to relay the daily kirtans also from the Golden Temple live and would soon set up systems, SGPC internet section supervisor Gurjit Singh said.

Hukumnamah8217;s availability on the SGPC site has benefited Sikhs all over the globe,Singh said.

Sikhs can send queries to SGPC through e-mail and seek clarifications and advice on the code of conduct, he said.

The queries are answered by Sikh clergy and the site is updated daily with new information including details on gurdwaras in different parts ofthe world, Singh added.
