
AMRITSAR, July 15: The 60th All India Sikh Educational Conference will be held at Dhaha Kaleran in November, said honorary secretary of the Chief Khalsa Diwan, Bhag Singh Ankhi.
At a meeting held on Monday evening, Tarn Taran honorary secretary of the educational panel, Manjit Singh, said the conference would commemorate the birth of the Khalsa, adding that a medical college would also be opened at Dhaha Kaleran on the occasion.
Budh Singh, president of the Guru Nanak Mission Trust and chairman of the the reception committee of the conference expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of farmers in Punjab. 8220;We are lagging behind due to lack of education,8221; he said. He also suggested that all Sikh educational institutions should be brought under one organisation which should be responsible for imparting job-oriented, quality education to students.President of Chief Khalsa Diwan Kirpal Singh, said it was a non-political and oldbodies of the Sikhs which was dedicated to the cause of education and social service for the last 100 years. Various other aspects of the education conference were also discussed at the meeting.
Besides, the office bearers of the Chief Khalsa Diwan and All India Sikh Educational Committee, members of the reception committee of the conference attended the meeting.
