SHIMLA, Jan 5: State Finance Commission Chairperson Shyama Sharma has resigned from the post.
She submitted her resignation to Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, this afternoon, soon after handing over the interim report of the Second Finance Commission to him.
An official release said the CM has accepted the resignation of Sharma and appreciated her efforts in preparing the report, which the state government would study for implementation.
The political circles, however, have expressed surprise over resignation of Sharma since actual task of the commission was not yet over and its final report was still awaited.
