Boxing camp from April 10
Kokanasth Pariwar of Pune will be organising a 21-day boxing training camp for youngsters at the Nehru stadium from April 10 to 30.

The camp, which will be organised in sub-junior, junior and senior sections, will be held under the aegis of the Pune District Amateur Boxing Association. It will include the presence of international boxing referee Vijay Mamdapurkar who will oversee the training. National boxer Shrinath Hagavne and boxing referee Santosh Dimble will be guiding and training the pugilists.

Apart from information on boxing techniques, a series of lectures by veterans in the field will also be organised. A certificate of completion will be awarded to each participant, while the best performer will receive the `Outstanding Boxer’ trophy. An entrance fee of Rs 50 will be being charged per participant. The training sessions will be conducted in the evenings from 6.00 to 8.00 p.m. Those interested may contact Sunil Nevrekar at the Nehru stadium between 7.00 and 8.00 p.m. or at Tel. no. 486043.

Summer camp for school children
A 15-day summer vacation camp for school students has been planned by the Haji Gulam Mohammed Azam Education Trust at the Azam Campus (Anglo Urdu School compound) from April 16 to 30.

The annual sports and recreation summer camp will include basic training in sports like football, hockey, cricket, volley ball and other indigenous games besides an introduction to various crafts and fabrics. The registration fees is Rs 200. Only the first 100 students will be enrolled.
