Kamal Chopra 111 and Virender Sahwag 4 for 15 helped Madras Club beat MCD on spin of coin after their match ended in a tie in the 2nd Lala Hari Ram Aggarwal Memorial cricket Tournament at the MCD sports ground. Madras Club have entered the quarter-final.

Tennis at East Delhi
A tennis coaching scheme, jointly executed by former Davis Cupper Shyam Minotra and the Delhi Development Authority, will get underway on July 1, 1998 at the Yamuna Sports Complex, East Delhi.
Boys and girls studying in government schools nominated by DDA will be given free coaching. Raquets, balls etc will also be provided free of cost. A rough budget of Rs 4 lakh has been envisaged. The DDA is also planning for an arrangement whereby the kids will be picked up from school and dropped back after the coaching sesson. Apart from the free scheme, there will also be a regular pay and play scheme. As a prelude to the scheme, a summer camp will be held from June 4 8211; 13 from 8 8211; 10 a.m under coach Hanuman Singh.
