
Harkirat, Hitesh star
Harkirat Singh’s unbeaten 58 and a fine spell of bowling by Hitesh Arge (5 for 15) powered Modern School (Vasant Vihar) to a 100-run victory over Gary’s Academy in a five-match series at Modern School, Vasant Vihar ground. Arjun Singh (3 for 18) and Amit Kumar (2 for 15) were the main wicket-takers for Gary’s Academy while Hitesh Arge and Rohitesh Dhawan took five and three wickets each, respectively, for the winners.

Deepak Yadav impressive
Fine all-round display by Deepak Yadav (38 not out and 4 for 11) and Rohit Thapa’s unbeaten 35 helped Ramjas Coaching Centre triumph over Meera Model School (Janakpuri) by four wickets in a limited overs match at Ramjas Sports complex. Besides Deepak Yadav, Bhupinder Asri (3 for 20) and Manmeet Singh (2 for 6) were the other wicket-takers for Ramjas Coaching Centre while Avneet Singh (4 for 18) was the most successful bowling hero for the losers.
Brief scores: Meera Model School: 120 all out in 22 overs (Amit Behal 30, Rajat 20, Deepak Yadav 4 for 11, Bhupinder Asri 3 for 20, Manmeet Singh 2 for 6) lost to Ramjas Coaching Centre: 122 for six in 16 overs (Deepak Yadav 38 no out, Rohit Thapa 35 not out, Avneet Singh 4 for 18).
Delhi to host National fencing
Delhi will hold the second sub-junior national fencing championship in May next year, according to the calender of activities finalised by the Fencing Association of India (FAI). The junior national fencing will take place at Pondichery in the last week of October or the first week of November this year. The senior national fencing will be staged at Nasik from January 28 to 31 next year. An official of FAI said that next year’s senior national fencing has been alloted to Imphal, which will be held some time in August.
