Hussain paintings up for charity during Wadia Cup
Sponsors of the Bombay Dyeing Cusrow Wadia Gold Cup slated for Sunday at Mahalaxmi on Sunday March 8 have abandoned their usual fashion show and will have the Hussain Auction for the benefit of Wadia Charitable hospitals.
Maureen Wadia representing the sponsors and Vivek Jain on behalf of the RWITC, informed the press today that this unique gesture will help the needy poor children and women to get advantage in the Jerbai Wadia Hospital and Nowrojee Wadia Hospital for women as the entire proceeds of the auction and other expected donations will go to these hospitals.
They appealed to the sporting public to grace the occasion in large number not only to enjoy the king of sports but also to help the poorest of the poor. A book containing different paintings of famous painter MF Hussain will also be auctioned by a celebrity and all the books. There will be several attractive prizes has also been arranged by the sponsors.
Inter-club leaguetennis tourney
Khar Gymkhana will be conducting the Prof JD Belani Inter-club league tennis tournament from April 4, 1998. Interested clubs can obtain the details from the Gymkhana office or Prof NJ Belani Tel: 604 4794/ 649 1162 The last date for receiving entries is March 15.
Cricket coaching camp
The Thakur Vidya Mandir summer coaching camp will commence from April 16 to May 30 at the school ground, Thakur Complex, Kandivli E.
