NEW DELHI, April 16: Delhi-team Indian Airlines retained the 49th All-India Sheesh Mahal cricket trophy defeating JSH Brothers of Bihar by two wickets, at a match played in Lucknow.

Electing to field, Airlines restricted JSH Brothers to 212 for the loss of six wickets in the alloted 45 overs. In reply, Airlines made 214 for eight with an over to spare, according to information reaching here.

JSH Brothers’ Asad Ahmad and Kapoor opened the inning cautiously and put up 33 runs before Asad was run out. At 50, Kapoor was back in the pavillion scoring 11 runs. Kapoor’s exit saw JSH Brothers losing the next three wickets at regular intervals. Airlines’ Onkar Singh caputered three wickets for 33 while Sukhwinder Singh and Ashok Singh shared a wicket each conceding 38 and 24 runs, respectively.

Chasing a target of 213, Airlines started disastrously and lost few wickets quite early. But they soon found stability and rushed to target and won it by two wickets. Airlines skipper Vijay Dahiya bagged the Man-of-the-Tournament and the Best Batsman awards while and the Best Bowler and Best All-Rounder’s prizes went to Satish Durai of Apace XI and Gyanendra Pandey of JSH Brothers, respectively.

Bisla 13, Mohd Kaif 2 for 3, Gyanendra Pandey 1 for 28).

Carrom meet
