CHANDIGARH, AUG 3: Bharatiya Janata Party national vice-president Krishan Lal Sharma has been declared the official candidate for the Chandigarh Lok Sabha constituency, which is going to polls in September. He replaces former city MP Satya Pal Jain.

Sharma8217;s name for the city parliamentary seat finds a place in the final list released at Delhi today. An RSS pracharak, Sharma, is unmarried, having dedicated his life to the service of the party.

He was imprisoned several times during the Emergency and was elected twice as Member of Parliament from outer Delhi, from where former Delhi chief minister Saheb Singh Verma is tipped to be the official candidate.

The infighting between the two warring factions of city BJP has paved the way for Sharma.
