AMBALA, Nov 20: Workers of the local Sewa Dal held a dharna in front of the office of the deputy commissioner here to protest the 8220;discrimination8221; being meted out to the citizens of town in the matter of providing civic amenities to them. The dharna, which was led by the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee member Raj Kumar Gama and local Sewa Dal chairman Kanhaya Lal Dave, was also joined in by the workers of the Block Congress Committee and Mahila, Kisan and Youth cells of the Congress.
Later, a deputation led by Gama submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner, listing the various problems, including inflation, erratic po being faced by the residents.
Commodore Commandant8217;S visit: Air Vice Marshal M. Mcmohan AVSM, VM, the new Commodore Commandant of 14 Squadron, during a visit to the Air Force station, here, today complimented the perssonnel of the unit for displaying the standards of professional excellence over the past decade and urged them to maintain the same in future. He said that 14 Squadron Air Force was a premier fighter squadron of the IAF.
Meanwhile the Air Vice-Marshal on the first day of the two-day visit here yesterday paid homage to the soldiers, who had laid down their lives for the country, by placing wreaths at the war hearoes8217; memorial. He was given a guard of honour by the Air Force personnel.
