LIKE the clothes she designs—‘‘fashion meets rock ’n’ roll’’—Donatella Versace personifies excessive glamour. In Mumbai to pick a winner from the recent Lakme Fashion House reality show, Versace, who wants every woman ‘‘to love herself’’, shares her flash fash tips.

A pair of tight-fitting
low-waist jeans Preferably Versace—Versus, Gianni Versace or Versace Jeans Couture (Rs 10,000 upwards). But of course, Donatella.

A tank top
‘‘Preferably a draped one,’’ says Donatella. ‘‘One that goes from one side of the body to the other.’’ Draped, fitted tops are ultra sexy. Inspired by the costumes of Greek goddesses, they make you feel like one too.

Hair down and left loose
Donatella likes fuss-free hair. Considering that she’s been dyeing her dark mane a white gold since she was 11—‘fuss’ clearly takes on a new meaning here; and she loves blondes too. Brother Gianni dedicated the Versace perfume, Blonde, to his baby sister.

Fake suntan
Donatella owns houses everywhere. Not to mention the chain of boutique hotels she’s opening. The first one, on Australia’s Gold Coast, has already been launched. She also has a permanent lobster-pink tan. At her Mumbai hotel, she spent hours tanning by the pool.

Lipgloss
Although Italian ladies love a slap of red lippie, the fashion-forward Donatella knows a bee-stung shine is in.

High heels
She may have a large entourage and cut an imposing figure, but Donatella is actually quite petite. You can’t help but notice her platform stilettos. ‘‘Grab the highest heels you can get,’’ she says.

And the Versace handbag
There’s nothing quite like a delightfully bling Versace bag.
