Amid the raging controversy in India over Sethusamudram, an expert has warned that the project can harm Sri Lanka8217;s coastal and marine life.

Amid the raging controversy in India over Sethusamudram, an expert has warned that the project can harm Sri Lanka8217;s coastal and marine life. 8220;The Sethusamudram project can cause problems to Sri Lanka8217;s coastal and marine life,8221; Malith Mendis, a member of the Sri Lankan delegation to study the project said on Monday.

Mendi, also the CEO of Lanka Hydraulic Institute, added if the project goes ahead, there would be considerable changes in the currents which can affect marine life.
