The stock markets came off from lower levels but still ended in the negative territory on Wednesday. The BSE Sensex plunged by 123.73 points initially to touch a low of 9,958.55 on the BSE on heavy selling by funds and retail investors. However, the Sensex closed at 10,044.82, down by 37.46 points over the previous close of 10,082.28.

The S038;P CNX Nifty also declined 11.15 points at 3008.95. The major draggers were HDFC, Infosys, ICICI Bank, Larsen and Toubro, HDFC Bank, Dr Reddy8217;s, TCS, Grasim, Tata Steel, Hero Honda, BHEL, Wipro and Tata Power. Dr Reddy8217;s came off low of Rs 1,161, and ended down 2.05 per cent at Rs 1,192. PTI
