
AYODHYA, Dec 2: The Uttar Pradesh Government has made elaborate security arrangements in the twin cities of Ayodhya and Faizabad in view of the sixth anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition on December 6.
Four companies of the Central Reserve Police Force, 12 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary and Rapid Action Force would be deployed near the Ram Janmabhoomi Complex inside the acquired 67 acres of land at Ayodhya, Senior Superintendent of Police Anil Agarwal told PTI here.
The district administration has already promulgated prohibitory orders and additional forces had started arriving last night, he said. Police was also seeking cooperation from the public and holding local committee meetings to remove misgivings about the reported programmes of various organisations on that day, he said.

Muslims, on the other hand, have reportedly decided to keep their shops shutthat day to protest the demolition of the mosque six years ago. President of the Indian Muslim Society Iqbal Mustafa urged people to maintain communal harmony.
