SEC announces dates for municipal elections

The State Election Commission has decided to hold the general elections in Municipal Committees, Mandi Dabwali and Pinjore and by-elections in Municipal Committees, Kalka and Assandh, Municipal Councils, Bhiwani, Palwal and Rewari on December 30. Chander Singh, State Election Commissioner, sai d the nomination papers can be filed from December 12 to 17 and they will be scrutinised on December 18. Candidates can withdraw their names on December 19. The final list of the candidates would be issued on the same day. The Commission has decided to appoint one observer election and one observer expenditure in the general election of Municipal Council, Panchkula and Municipal Committee, Mandi Dabwali to ensure free and fair elections.
