CHANDIGARH, March 6: Sanatam Dharam College, Sector 32 wrestlers reigned supreme in the men8217;s section in the Chandigarh State junior wrestling championship held at Wrestling Coaching Centre in Sector 30 here today. SD-32 annexed titles in both free-style and Greco-Roman categories. Wrestling Coaching Center-30, won the title in the women8217;s section.

SD College-32 bagged five gold, four silver and one bronze medal in the free-style section. However, in the Greco-Roman event, SD-32 topped the tally with six medals including two gold, two silver and two bronze.

The best bout of the day in the men8217;s division was, however, in the 75kg category in the free-style section. Chand Ram of SD-32 outclassed his team-mate Om Prakash to win the gold medal. Silver went to Om Prakash. Varinder took home the bronze.

The bouts in the women8217;s section were held only in the free-style category, and the bout between Rajni and Ekta in the 54kg section, was the most exciting.

In the meet judging was below standard. In-experienced person was seen refereeing the contests, who sometimes gave wrong decision. Though, the competitors made no written complaint with the organisers, the wrestlers who dominated on the mate was not among the winners list.
