KOLHAPUR, Nov 11: Well-known sculptor and masterly personality in landscape and portrait art Arvind Mistri passed away afer an heart attack at a private hospital here today.

Arvind, who was the younger brother of renowned sculptor late Ravindra Mistri, was 62 and is survived by wife, a son and a daughter. He was the younger son of renowned film producer and director the late Baburao Painter. Mistri was a former principal of Kalaniketan Institute and had knowledge about classical music and was also a good flutist. He completed recently a statue of Ranee Malamma for the Karnataka Lingayat Education Society. He received many awards including those from the State Government and the Mumbai Art Society. He was the first recipient of Chandrakant Mandre Puraskar.
