Screen test

The movie flashes the contact number of the family and Azar8217;s photograph so that anyone who has a clue about his whereabouts can get in...

.

It8217;s a film whose end is yet to come. Parzania, based on the life of a Parsi couple in Ahmedabad whose son went missing during the post-Godhra riots won much acclaim IFFI Goa. But for the director the real acknowledgment would come only if it could help trace the missing boy.

It8217;s been three years after the riots but Azar8217;s family is not sure whether they want to see the movie. 8216;8216;It will only take us through the bad memories. My daughter is also in class XII now. I don8217;t know whether we would be able to watch it,8217;8217; says Dara Modi, Azar8217;s father. But mother Rupa Tanaz, is eagerly waiting for the CD, director Rahul Dholakia had promised he8217;ll send when he last visited the family a fortnight ago. 8216;8216;The director, who is also a family friend, asked us whether we would be able to see it. But I said I want to,8217;8217; she says.

Every morning, Azar8217;s parents religiously scan through the smallest bit of news in the paper about orphanages, ashrams and observation homes and set out to visit these places hoping they8217;ll find their son. 8216;8216;It was Azar8217;s birthday on October 25. He turned 18 this year8230;.And we couldn8217;t even celebrate it,8217;8217; says Rupa. She had been to Mahipat ashram at Paldi just two days ago, hoping that the new inmate there might just be Azar. But as it has always been, she returned disappointed. 8216;8216;We just want our child back. My daughter also gets annoyed and keeps saying why is he not calling us?8217;8217; she says. The father and daughter still visit their old home at Gulbarg society regularly. 8216;8216;Mujhe wahaan par uski bahut yaad aati hai,8217;8217; he says.

THE film stars Naseeruddin Shah and Sarika. Director Rahul Dholakia says, 8216;8216;I have yet not gathered the courage to show the film to the family. I don8217;t know whether they8217;ll be able to watch it.8217;8217;

The movie flashes the contact number of the family and Azar8217;s photograph so that anyone who has a clue about his whereabouts can get in touch with his parents. 8216;8216;The director had told us he8217;ll be flashing my contact number too. And that8217;s the reason I haven8217;t yet changed it,8217;8217; says Rupa Tanaz.

Meanwhile, Dholakia is considering screening the movie in Ahmedabad. 8216;8216;I need to get distributors. Let8217;s see,8217;8217; he says. On whether he8217;s hopeful of Azar8217;s return, he says: 8216;8216;That8217;s one of the reasons why I made this film.8217;8217;

8216;8216;It shows a father waiting for his son to come back home. Everyone who8217;s seen the movie is also hoping the same. And if one day Azar returns home, that8217;ll be the biggest achievement for me. It8217;ll be the greatest 8216;The End8217; a movie has ever had,8217;8217; says Dholakia.
