
MUMBAI, JANUARY 5: “Darpana academy”, established by renowned performing artist Mrinalini Sarabhai, would present three of its productions for Mumbaites from January seven on the occasion of its 50th anniversary.
The academy would enact Krishna — the musical’, the conference of the birds’ and cityscapes’ at the National Centre for Performing Arts here, according to Mrinalini’s daughter Mallika Sarabhai.
Performing art specialists from India and abroad were involved in all the productions, which were mixtures of traditional and modern music and dance to communicate relevant social theames, Mallika told mediapersons today.
Mrinalini said she was satisfied with the way Darpana’, established in 1949 at Ahmedabad as a symbolic mirror of the society’, had evolved over 50 years involving people from various sections and connecting several art and music forms.
