Sanjay guides Moonlight to victory

NEW DELHI, June 24: Moonlight Club came back from a goal in arrears to beat Frontier 2-1 in a B group match of Delhi Soccer Association DSA-SAIL Senior Division Football League Championships at Ambdkar Stadium here on Wednesday.

Inside-right Sachin gave Frontier the lead in the 18th minute but Moonlight8217;s striker Mohd Kamil restored parity after 10 minutes. After change of ends, inside-left Sanjay scored the match-winner in the 42nd minute.

Frontiers8217; defender R Singh and substitute Ashok were shown yellow cards by referee D S Negi.

In another match in group B, last year8217;s winners City Club got a walkover from State Bank of India as the latter failed to turn up for the match.

At the Nehru Stadium, in a A division match, Golden Stars defeated Ahbab 2-0, Kabul Tyagi scoring both the goals, in the 26th and 35th minutes.

In another match, B B Stars defeated Delhi Tigers 1-0 to earn full points. Mohan Singh Negi scored the match-winner in the 13th minute.
