CHANDIGARH, OCT 11: Off-spinner Sanjay Dhull’s excellent spell of 7 for 81 helped Chandigarh beat Jalandhar by 162 runs to enter semifinal of the Punjab Inter-District Under-19 cricket tournament.
After the Chandigarh skipper Yuvraj Singh’s knock of 151 yesterday, Sanjay held the spotlight today. He took the first seven wickets to fall and at one stage looked as if he could strike a perfect ten as well. However, the leg-spinner Sahil Bhatia wrapped up the tail, taking the last three wickets.
Sanjay bowled a teasing line as none of the Jalandhar batsman, except perhaps Amit Behl (82) read him. Chandigarh will play Patiala in the semifinal tomorrow to be played at Patiala.
Scores: Chandigarh: 394 (Yuvraj Singh 151) beat Jalandhar: 232 (Amit Behl 82, R S Gill 50, Ankur Sondhi 20; Sanjay Dhull 7-81, Sahil Bhatia 3-51)
