As expected, rain prevented the India A and South Africa A opening one-dayer from happening. The match, scheduled here today, was abandoned with a ball being bowled.

The teams now head for Vadodara for the second of the three one-dayers.

8220;It is really disappointing. We have heard that there is rain in Vadodara and Rajkot as well, but we are just praying that we get at least one match. If not, our comeback effort surely gets tough. It was a good opportunity to be playing against such a team,8221; Parthiv Patel said.

Umpire A V Jayaprakash decided to not go ahead with the match after a final inspection at 10.30 am. The SA team has been bolstered by arrival of Albie Morkel, Gulam Bodi, Vernon Philander and Thandi Tshabalala.
