MUMBAI, Nov 3: According to police sources, Patil8217;s death came to light when a friend visited him at his residence at Bandra Reclamation at around 6 pm. Since nobody answered the door bell, the door was forced open and the body recovered.

It is still unclear if Patil committed suicide. Bandra police are awaiting a post mortem report.

Patil, a doctor, was the husband of Ashatai. His son is an MBA. Incidentally, Patil is the brother-in-law of Revenue Minister Ashok Chavan.

Police sources said Dr Patil could be around 55 years old.
