
MUMBAI, FEB 13: At the end of third-round of the Tanvi Satva All-India Rating chess tournament, organised by the Thane District Chess Association under the aegis of the Bombay Chess Association, seven players jointly led the field of 110 players with three points each.
Those who won all their three games were: fifth seed VKN Solanki MTNL, IWM Swati Ghate Pune, RS Kashelkar, Vikramaditya Kamble, Ashish Thatte and Ninad Konakanchi, all of Dombivli, and Yashraj Aidasani of Mumbai.Earlier in the second-round of Friday night, Rucha, a twin sister of Isha Karwade and a sixth standard student of Bal Shiksan Mandir Pune, shocked FIDE-Master Sajandas Joshi Bank Sports Board. Rucha won the game with white pieces in 55 moves of French Defence 8211; advance variation.
Rucha and Isha, who held IM Sharad Tilak in the first-round and seized a half point of the IM, did not do well today. Both of them lost without fighting in the third-round to eighth seed Yashraj Aidasani and Akshay Deshmukh a fourth standard studentof Abhinav Vidyalaya, Dombivli.On the second board Solanki, with white pieces, defeated Dhanajay Ramraje in a Nimzo 8211; Indian game in 44 moves.
On the third board, IWM Swati Ghate used Sicilian defence with black pieces to outwit Amruta Mokal Pune in only 33 moves.
IM Sharad Tilak beat Venkatesh Rao and took his tally to 2.5 points to clinch the joint second spot with six others.

Training camp
