VADODARA, July 15: The Ankleshwar project of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation ONGC has donated Rs 6.62 lakh to the Chief Minister8217;s Relief Fund for the cyclone-affected people of Kutch and Saurashtra.

An ONGC statement said that a demand draft of the amount was presented to Bharuch District Collector S Aparna at a function, on Tuesday, by Project Group General Manager K B Vora. The project employees have contributed their one-day salary for the cause.

P K Sharma, Project General Manager personnel and administration, said that the Ankleshwar project had undertaken various welfare activities for the people of the area, including laying new roads and organising medical camps. He said the company also extended financial assistance to medical and educational institutions.

Employees8217; leaders R H Pathan INTUC, O P Pal ASTO and R I Parmar SC/ST Association also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
