Bare nite
Late on Wednesday evening Achla Sachdev decided to throw a bash at Club Abyss the very next day to bring in her birthday. She spent the whole of Wednesday calling all her pals for her party, where the theme was dress to bare8217;. And despite her very late invites, all her friends turned up. All the models arrived in their smallest and skimpiest clothes, and seemed to revel in the chance to show of their fabulous figures. The birthday girl herself was wearing a sexy black and silver number. Pooja Batra, who spent most of night dancing with Marc Robinson, was wearing a very small tight red dress, so you could not miss her. Also there was Nina Manuel and model co-ordinator Rasna Behl, Sumeet Chopra, Anupama Verma and Kishan Palkhi8217; Mulchandani, who helped Achla put the party together.
Cal8217;s club
Someplace Else, which is the Park Hotel8217;s nightclub in Calcutta, celebrated their fourth anniversary by inviting some of Mumbai8217;s hot faces to their anniversary do. Singing there were SilkRoute, whose Dooba Dooba song has driven the Bengalis mad. And behind the bar, was Helen Brodie who kept giving away free drinks, much to the management8217;s disgust. But the girl of the night was Namrata Barua who spent the whole night dancing away on stage and all the Bengali men could not take their eyes off this beauty. It seems this model has quite a fan following in Cal.
Swiss time
While on Helen and Namrata, these two girls will be part of a rather exclusive jewellery show scheduled to take place sometime later this year. After the arrival of Cartier, Piaget and Omega, it seems Bulgari has finally decided to test the waters here. They will be holding an exclusive sit-down dinner for only the city8217;s most elite, where models will parade up and down in their jewels and watches. The other models chosen for this rather elitist event are Malaika Arora and Aditi Govitrikar.
Star meet
One year after its Indian launch, Sony Music has finally trained its sights on the pulse of thenation 8212; Hindi film music. And the first mega-movie in the company8217;s kitty is Karan Johar8217;s directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee and the music has been scored by Jatin-Lalit. At a quiet function at Holiday Inn last week, Sony Music8217;s managing director, Vijay Singh announced the company8217;s plans for the next few months. And the attraction for the evening was the audio release of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai by Shah Rukh, who was presented the first copy, followed by his director friend Karan and Yash Johar, the proud father and producer of the film.

The 19008217;s as always was packed on Saturday night, and it seems it has become quite the party place for those trying to make it in Bollywood. Seen there was Kareena Kapoor, who seems to enjoy a night out on the town, Sharad Kapoor who was chatting to Panini Raj Kumar8217;s son, in case you did not know who was there with his brother Puru. Puru, who, is currently working on a film withMamta Kulkarni which he promises will have a better impact on the box office than his debut venture 8212; the rather forgettable Bal Brahmachari which starred Karisma Kapoor.

Madhu Sapre has come down with Hepatitis B, so this week we would like to wish her a get-well-soon8217;. Madhu, who just returned from a vacation abroad, has not been feeling well for quite a while. And due to the illness she has had to cancel many of her modelling assignments that she was booked for this month. Let8217;s hope she is back on the ramp soon.
