First fashion
On Monday Araiya turned one with a bang as they held a fashion show at Fire amp; Ice, Mumbai8217;s most happening night club. And this was just the perfect location as Araiya8217;s collection is meant for the young and for those who like to go clubbing. Even their Indian wear has a very youthful look to it as they use a lot of lycra. So, it was not surprising to hear that many veejays and models wear Araiya originals.
The compere for the evening was Amrita Arora, both she and her sister Malaika who was at the show regularly wear Araiya clothes for their MTV shows. As does Channel V8217;s Nina Manuel who was one of the models on the ramp. And keeping Nina company were many well known models like Tarun Raghavan, Helen Brodie and Ujwala Raut. But it8217;s not only the veejays who favour Araiya clothes, model Lisa Ray too wears quite a bit of Araiya8217;s designs on her show Starbiz.
The Magic Bus is a new charity set up by some South Mumbai corporate types like Cox amp; King8217;s MatthewSpacey. The idea was to take the under privileged on a bus ride and make it like a party with musicians and other performers on board to make sure that the children had a good day out. The group has already started working with Akanksha. And to help raise awareness of their work, they held an official launch bash at the Fashion Bar amp; Bistro.
Already a lot of celebrities like Shekar Suman and singer Sagaarika have promised to help out. But that night, it was the ramp models who were out in full force, with Helen Brodie and Gauri Parulekar both attending the event.
