
PUNE, Dec 27: Catering to the interests of computer savvy rose lovers, the Rose Society of Pune has launched a website where they will be introducing one new Indian bred rose every month.
8220;The 20-page website contains information about the different varieties of roses, the procedure of growing roses, gardening tips for amateurs, photographs of winning flowers from shows organised by the society and results,8221; informed Suhas Ghaisas, president, Rose Society of Pune, addressing a Press conference on Saturday. The aim is to keep a rose enthusiast informed on what is the latest happening in the filed through articles, information capsules and pictures, that will be updated every month, he added.
Some classes have also been set aside for flower display and vase arrangements in which participation is sought is large numbers. The interesting point of this time8217;s exhibition is that no fee is being been levied on those willing to participate and participation is open to all. 8220;Madhukar Kavade will be presented with the silver medal sponsored by Naik Krishi Udyog in memory of late Laxmibai Anant Naik for a young worker of who has worked for the prosperity of the society,8221; pointed out Ghaisas. The exhibition will remain open for rose lovers from 1 pm to 8 pm on January 2 and from 9 am to 8 pm on January 3. Plants, fertilisers, pesticides, garden equipment and tools will be for sale at stalls at the Tilak Smarak Mandir.
