VADODARA, July 27: The State Government has decided to transfer 1,800 sq m land on R C Dutt Road to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation to allow widening of the street. This includes part of the premises of the police commissioner and the district development officer, among other government officers.
Deputy Municipal Commissioner Administration H S Patel told Express Newsline that the VMC had received a letter to this effect from the executive engineer of the Roads and Buildings Department city unit on Monday.
The road would be widened once the VMC had constructed compound walls for the affected premises, Patel added.
Meanwhile, nearly 100 people in Fatehganj and Gorwa areas voluntarily demolished constructions violating road margin norms, the DyMC said, adding that they included a restaurent near the Emporer building in Fatehgunj. More than 400 people have demolished such constructions in the past month.
