He won the audiences8217; hearts with his boyish charm in his debut film. She has been a personification of the sweet girl next door on screen. Both have now come together 8212; Imran Khan and Minissha Lamba 8212; to capture the audience in their latest release 8212; Kidnap where both have walked out of their stereotype image. The stars were in Pune on Friday evening at Inox multiplex to promote the film.

Having raised expectations with his debut film 8212; Jaane tu.., Imran appeared as casual as he is on screen. 8220;I am aware that after my first film, expectations are high. But then personally speaking, I do not expect anything from my films. Filmmaking is a risky business as a lot of it depends upon the masses. I am confident though that Kidnap would do good as well,8221; said the unassuming actor.

Imran who in his previous film was projected as a college going lover-boy, has broken this image with Kidnap. 8220;My role in this film is an angry and wild character. I don8217;t think that I naturally have those dangerous looks. But director Sanjay Gadhvi sure managed to get that image out of me,8221; adds Khan.

Imran Khan has also been a filmmaking student and differentiating between acting and technicalities of filmmaking, he explains, 8220;As a filmmaking student, I understand the technical aspects of films. It8217;s like knowing why the camera is there. But acting is totally different. My job as an actor is to keep doing different roles.8221;

And he surely is trying his hand in a variety of roles. With a eclectic mix of films in his pocket like Luck, Delhi Belly and so on, the young actor dreams of eventually becoming a director. 8220;I don8217;t know when and how but yes, I finally want to become a director. But before that I am enjoying my acting stint.8221;

This is also the first film in which Minissha Lamba claims to have broken her girl next-door look. 8220;I myself was surprised when the director asked me about this role because this is not what I have been doing. This role is completely glamorous and that is what got me interested in the role. I play a 17-year-old called Sonia who is kidnapped by Kabir, played by Imran.8221;

However, Kidnap has generated mixed reactions from the audiences and according to Lamba, 8220;Filmmaking is a creative process. There is no set formula for success. Everyone has his or her own approache towards films. I am happy that the positive reactions are more than the negative.8221;

We don8217;t know about her films but Lamba seems to know the secret of generating a fan following. Because she constantly kept waving at the audience saying, 8220;I love Pune. The city is a vibrant, young and energetic place to be.8221; Well, she sure seems to have got that right.
