AHMEDABAD, April 6: Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee president C D Patel has alleged that the release of Kantilal Patel, the nephew of Union Minister of State for Chemicals amp; Fertilisers A K Patel, would demoralise the State administration.
He criticised Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel for ordering release of Kantilal Patel, detained under Prevention of Black Marketing Act, against the directives of State Civil Supplies Minister Jaspal Singh. At a time when culprits in cases of loot, theft, rape and murder were not being nabbed, it is highly demoralising that an Union Minister pressurises the State government to release his own relative. Patel said the release order was a proof of the BJP government8217;s inefficient administration. He also condemned the BJP and the Sangh Parivar organisations taking law into their own hands resulting in attack on ministerial cavalcade.
Meanwhile, former Congress MLA Shaktisinh Gohil has decried the recent hike in prices of wheat and rice sold under public distribution system. He said this would narrow down the gap between prices of wheat and rice under PDS and the open market.
