8226; Sachin Tendulkar equalled Sunil Gavaksar8217;s record of most hundreds against Australia. It was his eighth hundred in 42 innings off 23 Tests vs Australia and 38th hundred overall off 144 Tests. Gavaskar8217;s same number of centuries came in 31 innings off 20 Tests vs Australia

8226; Sachin also became the second Indian after Gavaskar and seventh player overall to score five or more centuries against Australia in Australia. England8217;s Jack Hobbs, with 9 centuries, holds the record.

8226; Sachin also became the first Indian and 16th batsman overall to score 2000 runs against Australia in Tests.

8226; Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh set a record for the eighth wicket against Australia 8212; 129 runs.
