He can’t enter his constituency but he’s hoping to get elected from it.

Accused in two murder cases and recently out on bail from the Rajkot District Jail, BJP’s sitting MLA from Gondal, Jayrajsinh Jadeja, is not allowed to enter Rajkot district, where his constituency is located. But that’s not stopping him from nursing political ambitions.

On Monday, hours after the BJP released its first list, party leader and lawyer Arun Jaitley asked the Supreme Court to allow Jadeja to enter Rajkot. The SC had lifted the ban for two days including one day for filing the nomination and another during scrutiny.

The BJP had stayed its decision on the Gondal seat till the Court’s verdict on Jadeja’s bail was out. And on Wednesday he was declared the candidate for Gondal.

Jadeja, a two-time MLA, is accused in two murder cases. He and his supporters were accused of killing one Nilesh Raiyani who in turn was accused of killing a close associate of Jadeja.

Raiyani was a close associate of Rajkot district youth BJP president Vinu Singala who too was killed in 2005. When six migrants were arrested in Maharashtra, they implicated Jadeja in a conspiracy to kill Singala, and he was in jail for two years.
