CHANDIGARH, Feb, 7: S K Rathore of AG Gwalior lifted the title in the Inter-Zonal IA and AD Chess championship which concluded at AG Haryana premises in Sector 33, here today.

S K Rathore with 4.5 points emerged the winner followed by Hari Om Sharma of Chandigarh, who got 4 points. Third place went to Milind Gowde with 3.5 points.

S K Rathore also paired with SK Srivastava to win the team title. The team of Milind and Sujoy Bhattacharya West Bengal took the second position. Third place went to AG Allahabad.

Munish excels
An all round performance by Munish Arora 51 not out and 3 for 17, who was declared man of match, enabled Godrej Cricket Club to score a convincing eight wickets win over Coaching Centre, Panchkula in the Amartex Cup league cricket tournament at Sector 5, in Panchkula today.

Munish Arora and Arun Tuil bowled Panchkula team for 132 runs in the allotted 25 overs. The duo claimed three wickets each.

Raju Sharma 32 and Harish 25 were the main scorers for Panchkula.

In reply, Godrej CC got the winning total in the 18th over, losing two wickets.

Gurinder Saini 55 and Munish, who hit one sixer and seven boundaries in his unbeaten knock of 51 runs, which greatly contributed to the team8217;s victory.

PGI XI beat JAL XI by four runs in the second match of the day.
