CHANDIGARH, Nov 23: Chandigarh assured themselves of the gold in the light-fly weight as teammates Ramesh Singh and Anand set up the final bout in that category in the sixth A K Mishra Memorial boxing championship here at the Sector 10 Skating Rink this evening.
Ramesh scored a 5-0 verdict over Jasvir Singh (16 Sikh Regiment) in a semifinal bout while Anand had a 4-1 verdict in his favour over Promendra Sharma (Uttar Pradesh) in the other semifinal.
In the bantam weight final, Chandigarh’s Parmod Singh will fight with Ravi Prakash (Pepsu). Parmod beat Gurudev Singh (16 Sikh Regiment) 5-0 while Ravi knocked out L Balaji (Southern Railways) in the two semifinal bouts.
In the heavy weight category, Punjab’s Baljit Singh entered the final where he will take on IGS Delhi’s Pramod Sharma. Baljit won his bout with Haryana’s Manjeetpal Singh on a 4-1 points verdict while Pramod knocked out Gurpreet Singh (Pepsu) in the semifinal bouts.

Middle weight (71-75 kg): Sunil Kumar (Pepsu) bt Rakesh Kumar (HP) on points; Pawan Panwar (IGS-Del) bt Harjinder Singh (16 SR)- RSC (OC).
