
Ramanpreet Singh8217;s unbeaten century steered Total Vengsarkar Cricket Academy to the Ajit Naik memorial U-14 cricket title, which was organised by the Worli Sports Club under the auspices of the Mumbai Cricket Association. Rizvi Sports Club declared their innings at 185 for the loss of eight wickets and while chasing this target, Total Vengsarkar Cricket Academy lost their first four batsmen for just 73 runs. But in-form batsman Ramanpreet Singh once again came to the rescue of his team and along with Vaibhav Javkar, put together a 146-run partnership for the fifth wicket that ensured their side emerged victorious.
After facing 151 balls, Ramanpreet was 118 not out, whereas Javkar made 48 runs to give his captain good company and form a winning partnership. Total Vengsarkar Cricket Academy made 223 for 5 in 85 overs to lift the title. Slow left-arm bowler Aakash Luthra was the most successful bowler for Rizvi. He took three wickets for 37 runs.
Centurian Ramanpreet was declared the man of the match of the final and also the best player of the tournament, whereas Aakash Luthra of Rizvi Sports Club was given the best bowler award.
