Raman Vijayan powers E Bengal win

The only goal of the match came in an unexpected manner after East Bengal8217;s veteran midfielder Tushar Rakshit latched on to a stray ball midway in the Salgaocar half.

Rakshit controlled the ball and passed forward for Raman Vijayan inside the Salgaocar box. The lanky striker sidestepped Salgaocar defender Roberto Fernandes and approaching the goalmouth, sent a low diagonal right-footer past goalkeeper Upendra Man Singh. The ball entered the net between the goalkeeper and the far post togive East Bengal the lead.
