PATIALA, Jan 1: Karmchari Ekta Manch, Punjabi University, here today held a massive rally on the university campus in protest against the terminations of services of ad hoc employees of the university yesterday.

The rally was addressed by chairman of Manch Ram Singh Joshan and Malkeet Singh, ex-president of the non-teaching association of employees.

The speakers strongly condemned the attitude of the state government to terminate the services of 250 ad hoc employees and teachers working for five to 10 years.

The speakers appealed to the state government and university authorities to reinstate the ad hoc employees immediately so that the work of the university might not be affected. It was unfortunate that the state government should have terminated the service on the new year eve, added the speakers.
