
Gangster killed in encounter
MUMBAI: One of the twelve most wanted gangsters of the city, Shashi Sagnekar, alias Chikna Babu, was shot dead in a police encounter late on Saturday night along with another associate Sanjay Sandhor, alias Ghulya, alias Khiladi. Chikna Babu 30 and Ghulya 27 had called a builder at Cotton Green for extortion. However, a crime branch police team led by ACP Pradeep Sawant and API Pradeep Angre, was waiting for them at around 10.45 pm. Realising that they had walked into a trap, the two opened fire. The police retaliated and killed them on the spot. Chikna Babu was wanted in four murder cases. Police constables Jagdish More and Gotya Sawant were also a part of the team.

Suu Kyi bereaved
LONDON: Myanmar8217;S pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi8217;s Husband, Michael Aris, on Saturday died of prostate cancer in a hospital here. He was 52 and is survived by Suu Kyi and two sons. Aris was refused a a visa to visit Suu Kyi recently.
