Test cricket is alive, 3 decided on same day

PERTH: Three Test matches, held in countries far away from each other, were decided today, signalling clearly that Test cricket is alive and kicking even in these days of its instant version.

In Perth, Australia beat England on the third day of the second Ashes Test by seven wickets; in Peshawar, rookies Zimbabwe won their first Test abroad when they beat Pakistan by seven wickets with more than a day to spare.

In Johannesburg, South Africa beat West Indies by four wickets on the final day of the first Test.
