Gavaskar to get Maharashtra Bhushan award
MUMBAI: Chief Minister Manohar Joshi today announced that the prestigious Maharashtra Bhushan award will be conferred on the veteran cricketer Sunil Gavaskar. The award, comprising a 5 lakh rupee cash and a memento with citation, will be conferred on the legendary cricketer at a function to be held at the Wankhede Stadium. The award has been constituted for honouring outstanding personalities in the field of art, literature, sports and science.

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday relaxed its earlier October 2 deadline imposing a ban on 15-year-old commercial vehicles, including buses, taxis and autorickshaws and fixed December 31 this year to scrap these vehicles from the Delhi roads.
