Punjab concede lead

Punjab tail-enders Manpreet Gony and Ankur Kakkar put up a stiff resistance on a bouncy wicket at the PCA Stadium here today as Hyderabad8217;s Pragyan Ojha and Ashwin Yadav pegged on at them.

That effort lasted one and-a-half hours, and 71 runs accumulated from the seventh-wicket stand after the hosts lost three early wickets on the third morning of their Ranji Trophy super league match here.

Then Shoaib8217;s throw direct to the wicket-keeper from 35 yards caught Kakkar short of his crease, and Punjab ended their innings at 356, handing a 23-run lead to Hyderabad.
