That effort lasted one and-a-half hours, and 71 runs accumulated from the seventh-wicket stand after the hosts lost three early wickets on the third morning of their Ranji Trophy super league match here. Then Shoaib’s throw direct to the wicket-keeper from 35 yards caught Kakkar short of his crease, and Punjab ended their innings at 356, handing a 23-run lead to Hyderabad.
