Vaidya-Kunte duo wins
Ashok Vaidya and Ajit Kunte won the pairs progressive event of the Narayandas Rathi Memorial bridge tournament that concluded at the Poona Club on Sunday. There was a tie for the second place between Thakral-Goyal and veteran ladies Kanitkar and Antarkar which was broken in favour of the former. The combination of Ajit Chakradeo and VD Sathe bagged the fourth place. The Rathi foundation has been sponsoring the tournament for the past five years in memory of the late Narayandas Rathi, who was amongst the city’s leading bridge players.

Kamtekar shines on opening day
Ranjit Kamtekar was the major contributor in PYC’s massive first innings total of 256 for 8 against Deodhar Trust on the opening day of the under-19 Invitation League here today. Deodhar Trust were 18 for 4 at draw of stumps.
