From the underworld to cyberworld is the latest venture undertaken by don Arun Gawli. And presto! There is a new website on the net for, of and by Gawli himself.

Celebrating his 47th birthday, the Akhil Bharatiya Sena decided to hit the worldwide web to list its achievements and register its master8217;s speeches. So the site, which promises to list the candidates of the upcoming elections that the ABS will field also lists achievements. The ABS also promises that the site will be regularly updated and its manifesto and future plans will be posted for all to see. So those interested can check out akhilbharatiyasena.com.

Rickshaw stir tomorrow
The Pune city autorickshaw federation, an union of autorickshaw drivers, has decided to participate in the state-wide bandh on July 20 to protest against the State Government8217;s decision to allot permits to 12-seater maxi-cabs.

The federation, in a statement, said that it will support the bandh only for one day in case the demands are not considered because of the electoral code of conduct.

The call for the state-wide bandh of the autorickshaws, taxis and private buses has been given by the Maharashtra State Autorickshaw Taxi Action committee. The action committee is protesting against compulsion for electronic fare meters, and the imposition of annual profession tax.

The federation at its meeting held on Sunday has urged the action committee to submit a petition to the State Transport Authority. The federation has also decided to boycott the general elections and not vote for any party. The meeting was presided over by Vasant Pashte and was attended by 17 autorickshaw unions from the city, the statement said.

Sugar co-op MD booked
The Junnar police on Saturday booked the managing director of the Vighanar Cooperative Sugar Factory, Junnar, for allegedly violating the election code of conduct.

According to the police, Rajaram Borkar failed to return all the vehicles used by the elected representatives as per the election code of conduct. According to the directive issued by district collector, Vijaykumar Gautam all government vehicles were to be handed over as per the directives of the Election Commission.

Borkar allegedly failed to ensure that all the vehicles used by the elected representatives of the cooperative returned the vehicles given to them. He was arrested and later released on bail following a complaint filed by the tehsildar Vivek Kaluram Agvane. The Junnar police is investigating.
