
Teachers to go on one-day strike
Around 2000 teachers from 700 schools Pune district will participate in the state-wide one-day strike of secondary and higher secondary school teachers to press for the implementation of the pay scale recommended by the Fifth Pay Commission.
The Maharashtra State Secondary Teachers Federation, the representative union of secondary and higher secondary teachers, will take out a morcha from Shaniwar Wada to the District Collectorate tomorrow as a mark of protest, where they will present a memorandum to the collector.
Mahadev Gavhane, president of the federation said that the Sukhtankar Committee appointed by the State has recommended a pay scale less than that by the Fifth Pay Commission.
