SURAT, May 5: Suspended PSI Jetsinh Bhurabhai Parmar was produced before a magistrate on Wednesday evening and remanded to police custody for two days. The police, who have not begun interrogating him, said in the evening that he had been kept under observation today and would be questioned from tomorrow morning.

Athwalines PI G B Darji and others presented Parmar before a magistrate, who granted a two-day police remand. 8220;He looked normal and did not say anything absurd today, unlike on Tuesday when he went on a shooting spree and muttered words that did not make sense,8221; ACP I C Raj, who is supervising the investigation of the case, said.

Senior police officials also said in the evening that Parmar would be examined by by a psychiatrist, though they did not state when this would take place.

Meanwhile, the condition of both Chandrakant Reshamwala and Shantilal Patel, who had been injured on Tuesday, was reported to be improving. They were operated upon yesterday itself.
