
Sixty-year old Davinder Singh, a property dealer, committed suicide on Wednesday. Singh took this extreme step after he was allegedly threatened by a client for his failure to get a land deal through It is learnt that Singh had finalised a deal with Inderjeet Singh, a hotelier, and had taken taken money of Rs 20 lakh. However when Singh failed to get the land registered in Inderjeet Singh8217;s name, the latter allegedly threatened him allegedly at gunpoint.
Following this incident, the scared property dealer consumed poison. He was admitted to a local hospital where he passed away yesterday. Following his death, a complaint was filed by Inderjeet Kaur, wife of the deceased, with the Salem Tabri Police station.
ASI Ravel Singh, the investigating officer, informed, 8220;We have registered FIR against the accused and have started investigating the matter. We would be able to say anything after the arrest of the accused. Meanwhile, the body of the victim has been sent for the post-mortem and the report is awaited.8221;
