Probe ordered into mad cow blood export

Talking the threat of transmission of human form of Mad Cow disease seriously, the Health Ministry has ordered an investigation to trace the consignment.

The Drug Controller of India has written to the WHO to see if there is a possibility of transmission of the disease from blood products. The two British companies exporting the products to India have also been contacted. The matter has also been taken up with the External Affairs Ministry to follow up with the British government.
