Over the past month,Al Qaida has taken a number of hits, and a number of Al Qaida leaders in Yemen are no longer with us because of this determined and aggressive action,he said.

Brennan said the Nigerian terror suspect, charged with blowing up a US plane on December 25,had received training and explosives from the Al Qaeda in Yemen.

“As we have been able to piece together the story about Abdulmutallab,it’s clear that he was in Yemen for several months between August and November or so. We know that he had reached out to Al Qaida. We know that he received training — in fact, training at one of the camps that was hit during the month of December,” he said.
