There is space,time for diplomatic solution: US on Iran

US says Iran can work its way out of the corner if it engages in 'constructive behaviour'.

The Obama Administration believes there is time and space for a diplomatic solution to the 8220;world8217;s concerns8221; about Iran8217;s development of nuclear weapons if it engages in 8220;constructive behaviour8221;,the White House said.

8220;There is time and space here for a diplomatic solution8230; if Iran chooses to engage in constructive behaviour,8221; White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters,responding to a question on Iran writing a letter to the European Union,expressing willingness to talk on nuclear weapons8217; issue.

8220;We8217;re reviewing the letter,8221; Carney said.

8220;We have certainly noted in the past that the Iranians needed to respond to that letter. So they have. But I don8217;t want to make any qualitative judgements about their response at this time.8221;

Carney said if Iran chooses a path of 8220;honouring its international obligations and working with the international community to remove the world8217;s concerns about its development of a nuclear weapons program8221;,then there is an opportunity for Iran to work its way out of the corner that its behaviour has led them into.
